What an amazing evening it was – a culmination of months of hard work by our most committed and dedicated volunteers.
In 16 years since the resettlement started, the community has come a long way, but we haven’t come this far alone
As individuals or as a community, we are neither dependent nor independent, we are interdependent. And this was on display at the event as we have collectively helped build social capital over the years through bonding within the Bhutanese community, bridging across communities and linking with service providers, government agencies and other stakeholders.
As one of more recent arrivals, the Bhutanese community have woven another thread to the rich tapestry of multicultural Australia. Thanks to each and everyone, and the event organising team comprising Coordinator Suman Chhetri, ABA President Devendra Gautam, Damber Dhungyel and Dr Naresh Parajuli. Thanks to our event partners SydWest Multicultural Services, SSI, STARTTS, CMRC and Multicultural NSW and all other supporters.
To all the amazing guests who were able to join us, thank you! It was an evening filled with fun and entertainment, and speeches.
Guest artists included Pratap Subba Daju of ‘Bandanko Chino’ fame from the US, CD Vijay Adhikari, a winner of Voice of Nepal, Kiran Rasaily and many others.
