Anura Pathirana is a ‘Multipotentiality individual with many interests and creative pursuits and passions. In this context Anura has excelled in many fields as television presenter, actor, lawyer and in many other pursuits. He is the eldest sibling among three brothers recollects that the family had lived in several locations in Kandy but he remembers his young days when the family lived in the small yet very beautiful village named ‘Nugatenna” within the Hunnasgiriya village in Sri Lanka. It is located within Central Province. Hunnasigiriya is one of the entering point to the Knuckles massif. It is in the southern part of the Knuckles Mountain Range.Anura remembers well the fauna with an abundance of lakes, streams, rivers and paddy fields owned by his grandfather. He reminisces how he ,brothers and friends walked through paddy fields to school. How he and friends played in playgrounds in the village which was sans any vehicles. Hence to town too they had to walk about one and a half kilometres.. Anura recollects how they enjoyed eating mangoes as such was able to identify the tastes of separate mangoes in diverse trees. Anura recollects his first schools as ‘Dumbara Maha Vidyalaya then the Nugatenna Maha Vidyalaya then to Poramadulla Central College in Hanguranketha entered via his triumph in the scholarship examination .
Anura’s father Sunil Pathirana a businessmen and Nimal Sedera a reputed author had been in the same boding house in Nuwara Eliya with famous actor Jayalath Manoratne ‘ Having seen Jayalath Manoratne’s acting his father used to imitate him by acting acclaiming him .Anura also competent in writing skills had been in the habit of sending films scripts written by him by post to Jayalath Manoratne for which he always had replied with advise, that to produce a film it needs a huge sum of money, but for a stage play those scripts would be more treasured. From Poramadulla Central College Anura been a bright student had gained admission to the University of Colombo to follow a law degree. During his tenure in the law faculty had been indulged in many activities correlated to art.
After passing out from the university for his love for art had joined Swarnavahini who had commenced reality competitions, but simultaneously the Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation had organized the first reality competition termed ‘Thurunu Shakthi’ which had been staged at the Poramadulla Central College. As Anura had been competent in the field of announcing his music teacher had told him to endeavour to obtain a chance to present as an announcer. Anura having confidence had asked for a chance, but the organisers had conveyed; ‘will see as there are competent announcers’ who were present. However, the organisers had allowed Anura and two other female announcers to conduct the reality show which he concluded to meticulousness.

Thereafter with this successful stint Anura had applied to Swarnavahini for the post of announcers which was a tedious procedure having called one hundred prospective persons which was then reduced the crew to thirty has had to undergo training for months. However, with his aptitude the. Management had got convinced with Anura’s flair in abundance had given him a program on the first of January year 2007 which had made Anura ecstatic .One day Anura and his co announcer Surangi Koditawakku had stepped to a snack bar in the vicinity to have tea ,when to that place the duo Roy de Silva and Sumana Amarasinghe too had by sheer quirk stepped in Roy de Sliva had asked Anura that he is searching for an actor to perform a role for his new film, to which Anura had said he had not had acted before. Roy de Silva had added that on the same day they are having rehearsals at a top floor of the Savoy building for him to be present. Anura had clutched this offer with both hands had gone to the venue There he had seen Soma Edirisinghe ,Jeevaka Edirisinghe , Roy de Siva and Sanath Wimalasiri etc.Roy de Silva had conveyed that this is the guy he had selected for the proposed film ‘Udumbara’ which was Anura’s inaugural film venture. Anura had also portrayed a female’s role very effectively in the film ‘Sir Last Chance” also via a coincidence which was also another comedy film directed by Roy de Silva also produced by Soma Edirisinghe starring a massive cast in Wijaya Nandasiri, Sanath Wimalasiri,Lucky Dias, Analkali Akarsha and Palitha Perera. Which incidentally was a first DTS cinemascope digital comedy film made in Sri Lanka. This was a blessing in disguise to Anura when he met many popular artistes like Priyantha Seneviratne, Wijaya Nandasiri, Rodney Warnakula,Mahinda Pathirage ,Janesh Silva, Palitha Perera, Arjun Kamalanath, Anton Jude,Anusha Damayanthi,Analkali Arkasha etc. all well-known characters resembling a star studded cast..Both Anura and Ishara had portrayed roles of course Ishara the main role in the teledrama “Seethala Ginidel”: a depiction of money ,politics and related evils telecast in the national channel Rupavahini directed by Lucky Dias. Thereafter Anura was invited to stage dramas but for a moment Anura had to abandon acting as he had opted to go to England for his planned LLM degree to the Keele University for a short period for enhancing his legal profession After his return Anura had joined Hiru TV which had just begun was entrusted to present the inaugural program ‘gadget show’ where he had impressed After a pause had joined ‘Siyatha’ who had welcomed him as he arrived at the channel.

Upon returning from England had commenced a small business with two friends having lodged in the same dwelling to which another friend Dammika was used to visit often. One day Anura had seen Ishara presenting in a television channel in the Hiru channel, had got terribly impressed about her beauty but wanted to view her in person had gone with Dammika to the related television channel the Hiru TV where both were employees were known having previously worked in the same television channel. The purpose of the visit though planned was not known to Ishara or to the colleagues there all well known to Anura. Unfortunately Anura had not got the opportunity to talk to Ishara but had been overwhelmed with her pretty looks and disposition which he wanted to view materially. The same evening Dammika his associate had called Ishara and asked what is your idea about Anura who visited the channel. Well she had not known anything about this plan was unable to comment. After seen her Anura was in the same stand that she was an ideal partner for marriage but wanted to find primarily whether she already was having a fiancé’ When it was confirmed Anura had discreetly found all possible details of Ishara before asking her willingness to commence a serious love affair.
But Ishara as any other girl had not consented abruptly but taken sometime for her to make enquiries about Anura. There had been severe objections from Ishara’s parents as the two horoscopes had not tallied which was a severe constraint. .The duo after been given the nod to commence a love affair to many the duo looked like brother and sister as such no one even suspected that the duo was in love.In this scenario the duo used to travel together for many places for events. Anura and Ishara had kept their attachment a secret with only a few close eloquent associates . The duo wanted to spring a surprise to many when the wedding took place Before marriage the duo had spent about two years getting to understand each other. Anura had confessed that every married couple do not tally with their philosophies and thoughts. In this contest to have a happy marriage life each party should adopt in conducts and behaviours entirely in relation to their individual life patterns. By this way only any marriage will undoubtedly prolong.
The duo Ishara and Anura tied the nuptial knot on 5th January 2018 in a glittering ceremony attended by a huge gathering of family, relations and several artistes. The saying that marriages are made in heaven is not confirmed by this. Lasting relationships regardless of whether the two people concerned are married or not are mainly based on a mix of genetics, physical appearance and emotions. Anura had mentioned that though he married for a few years he is still to understand Ishara properly though he had strained so much to comprehend. After the wedding the duo continued their usual television programs
After Anura’s stint at the ‘Siyatha’ he had joined ‘Sirasa’ TV where Ishara too was attached to as the channel needed a male presenter. When Anura’s name was suggested the decision makers had added now as he is lawyer would not accept owing to his heavy schedules in court stuffs. But Ishara had convinced them saying he would be thrilled to accept as this was his ultimate preferred zone The duo had impressively performed the ‘Morning’ show to precision which had reached a popularity to tall elevations simultaneously giving a gigantic boost to ‘Sirasa’ television channel.
Before long Ishara had conceived. Anura had been dreaming of a daughter as their first child .He even had wanted to confirm whether the baby to be born was a son or a daughter. When the gynaecologist confirmed it was a daughter Anura was thrilled the magnitude of his happiness he could not express. Born in the year 2019 the daughter was named ‘Isasya’ The duo gives total attention to her.Upto about four years Ishara had abandoned all her activities for a few years. To complete her degree as an Ayurvedic doctor and for looking after ‘Isasya’ Ishara had been quiet not seen in the media as such she had not been offered any work. After which starting work in presenting had gathered momentum when she re commenced her television work..The acceptance and belief of Ishara is that when the daughter is growing the father and mother duo should give her complete attention which should be compulsory to all parents. Ishara’s father had missed her a lot when after her scholarship triumph when she entered Devi Balika in Borella she had missed her father even falling sick affected with fever owing to ‘Sankawa”. In this scenario both Ishara and Anura render the fullest courtesy to daughter Isasya by staying with her as much as possible the duo is used to playing with her consistently even till late daily.It was disclosed that the duo balance with difficulty their activities with preference to Isasya’s attention but that is tasty sans the assistance of a domestic aid. Isasya in now is in nursery class at Musaeous College.

Among his television presentations it is the ‘Jeewithayata Ida Denne’ on Sirasa television which is most popular which Anura had continued over a period of four years perhaps from the launch of the program.This program as many are aware is presented with a female presenter, on many occasion the counterpart had been Ishara Sandamini who conduct meticulously, to delight the listeners and well as the guests. It has been observed that Anura never embarrass the guests mainly via his pleasing disposition. Anura has also spearheaded the Neketh program on Sirisa television for the past three years in succession. Anura had confessed that though he is a multipotentiality individual his dream had been to be exclusively a television presenter by leaps and bounds having seen the presentation talents of legends like Karunaratne Abeysekera, Premakeerthi de Alwis etc.
