The one item that jumped out at me is the percentage of people in the <\/span>world who live to be over 65! If you are reading this e-mail I guess<\/span><\/span>
\nyou are one of the few fortunate people. Read below for all the details.<\/span><\/p>\n

Earth’s Population Statistics in Perspective
\n<\/strong><\/span>
\nThe population of Earth is around 7.8 Billion.<\/span><\/p>\n

For most people, it is a significant figure. However, if you condensed\u00a0 <\/span>7.8 billion into 100 persons, and then into various percentage statistics,<\/span><\/span>
\nthe resulting analysis is relatively much easier to comprehend.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Out of 100 :<\/span>
\n11 are in Europe<\/span>
\n5 are in North America<\/span>
\n9 are in South America<\/span>
\n15 are in Africa<\/span>
\n60 are in Asia<\/span><\/p>\n

49 live in the countryside<\/span>
\n51 live in cities<\/span><\/p>\n

75 have mobile phones<\/span>
\n25 do not.<\/span><\/p>\n

30 have internet access<\/span>
\n70 do not have the availability to go online<\/span><\/p>\n

83 can read<\/span>
\n17 are illiterate.<\/span><\/p>\n

33 are Christians<\/span>
\n22 are Muslims<\/span>
\n14 are Hindus<\/span>
\n7 are Buddhists<\/span>
\n12 are other religions<\/span>
\n12 have no religious beliefs.<\/span><\/p>\n

26 live less than 14 years<\/span>
\n66 died between 15 – 64 years of age<\/span>
\n8 are over 65 years old.<\/span><\/p>\n

If you have your own home,<\/span>
\nEat full meals & drink clean water,<\/span>
\nHave a mobile phone,<\/span>
\nCan surf the internet, and<\/span>
\nhave gone to college,<\/span>
\nYou are in the minuscule privileged lot.<\/span>
\n(in the less than 7% category)<\/span><\/p>\n

Amongst 100 persons in the world, only eight live or exceed the age of\u00a0 <\/span>65!<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

If you are over 65 years old, be content & grateful. Cherish life. <\/span>Grasp the moment.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

If you did not leave this world before the age of 64, like the 92 <\/span>persons who have gone before you, you are already the blessed amongst<\/span><\/span>
\nhumankind.<\/span><\/p>\n

Take good care of your health. Cherish every remaining moment.<\/span><\/p>\n

If you think you are suffering memory loss, read on.<\/span><\/p>\n

Anosognosia –<\/strong>\u00a0very interesting:<\/span><\/p>\n

In the following analysis, the French Professor Bruno Dubois, Director <\/span>of the Institute of Memory and Alzheimer’s Disease (IMMA) at La<\/span><\/span>
\nPiti\u00e9-Salp\u00eatri\u00e8re – Paris Hospital addresses the subject in a rather <\/span>reassuring way:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

“If anyone is aware of their memory problems, they do not have\u00a0 <\/span>Alzheimer’s.”<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

1. forget the names of families.<\/span>
\n2. do not remember where I put some things .<\/span><\/p>\n

It often happens in people 60 years and older that they complain that <\/span>they lack memory. “The information is always in the brain, it is the<\/span><\/span>
\n“processor” that is lacking.”<\/span><\/p>\n

This is “Anosognosia” or temporary forgetfulness.<\/span><\/p>\n

Half of people 60 and older have some symptoms that are due to age <\/span>rather than disease. The most common cases are:<\/span><\/span>
\n– forgetting the name of a person,<\/span>
\n– going to a room in the house and not remembering why we were going\u00a0<\/span>
\nthere,<\/span>
\n– a blank memory for a movie title or actor, an actress,<\/span>
\n– a waste of time searching where we left our glasses or keys .. <\/span>After 60 years most people have such a difficulty, which indicates <\/span>that it is not a disease but rather a characteristic due to the <\/span>passage of years ..<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Many people are concerned about these oversights hence the importance <\/span>of the following statements:<\/span><\/span>
\n1.”Those who are conscious of being forgetful have no serious problem <\/span>of memory.”<\/span><\/span>
\n2. “Those who suffer from a memory illness or Alzheimer’s, are not <\/span>aware of what is happening.”<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Professor Bruno Dubois, Director of IMMA, reassures the majority of <\/span>people concerned about their oversights:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

“The more we complain about memory loss, the less likely we are to <\/span>suffer from memory sickness.”<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

We are truly blessed, So, share this with your over-55 friends, it can <\/span>reassure them.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
