A Sri Lankan has been charged for stabbing his wife, a mother-of-three, to death in her home at Sandhurst in Melbourne\u2019s south-east.<\/span><\/p>\n

The 44-year-old woman\u2019s daughter rushed to her neighbours for help, but her mother could not be saved.<\/span><\/p>\n

In CCTV footage, the daughter can be heard knocking on her neighbours\u2019 door and pleading for assistance.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cPlease, please, please,\u201d the daughter says, before adding horrifying details of the alleged attack.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m pretty sure she\u2019s dead.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re coming, we\u2019re coming, we\u2019re coming,\u201d a neighbour can be heard yelling out.<\/span><\/p>\n

But it was too late, her mother, Nelomie Perera, had been killed.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cShe was just saying, \u2018My mum\u2019s dead, my mum\u2019s dead,\u201d neighbour Paul Vavitis told 9News.<\/span><\/p>\n

Police said in a statement a 45-year-old Sandhurst man had been charged with murder.<\/span><\/p>\n

9News understands the man charged was the mother-of-three\u2019s husband, Dinush Kurera.<\/span><\/p>\n

Kurera is alleged to have also attacked their teenage son, who managed to escape with a non-life-threatening head injury and was taken to the hospital for treatment.<\/span><\/p>\n

The horrifying ordeal unfolded in Perera\u2019s Sandurst home just before midnight.<\/span><\/p>\n

9News understands Perera recently separated from her husband.<\/span><\/p>\n

Neighbours said she had just changed the locks on the family home.<\/span><\/p>\n
