I remember it so well. I rode on the engine itself,\u00a0 driven by my dear late Uncle Fred de Kretser, of the C.G.R.,&amp; helping the &#8216;fireman&#8217; to keep the log fire in the engine going, could well be the dream of ANY lad of around eight, and there I was. Just as the &#8216;train of life&#8217; is, this wasn&#8217;t an express train, and it stopped at nearly every Station, on the way, so we could buy a few &#8216;masala or ulindu wadais&#8217; to snack on, our long journey, which then took many hours to complete, and I remember stopping at these stations and waving proudly at hundreds of people watching us as we rolled by.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #000000;\">Now, nearly 79 years later, I find myself watching &#8220;LIFE, A TRAIN JOURNEY&#8221;, thinking about how absolutely LUCKY I am, to have lived this life, riding Trains of life, in both Ceylon and Australia.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #000000;\">Hoping that every Member &amp; Reader of e&#8217;Lanka join me on this KLASSIC KELLY journey of life, as this is what it truly is, and always will be.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em><strong><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #000000;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-75857\" src=\"https:\/\/websitedesigns.com.au\/elankanew\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/Desmond-Kelly160.jpg\" alt=\"Desmond-Kelly\" width=\"160\" height=\"228\" \/>\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em><strong><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #000000;\">Desmond Kelly.
