Little or Forgotten Saviours of the Motherland. – By Noor R. Rahim<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

\"NOOR<\/p>\n

Little has been said or highlighted by the Nation<\/span><\/p>\n

Of the small contingents of the 3 Armed Services & the Police<\/span><\/p>\n

And their gallant and noble services to their Motherland<\/span><\/p>\n

When the mislead youth staged an insurrection in April \u201871<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Spearheaded by a strong willed Lady PM who faced it all alone<\/span><\/p>\n

She stood her ground lone-handed & faced the crisis with determination<\/span><\/p>\n

Behind her stood the troops armed with weapons of WW 1 & 2 vintage<\/span><\/p>\n

And fought off the insurgents with sheer guts & glory define<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The policies of the insurgents were in accord with Che Guerra doctrine<\/span><\/p>\n

Closely followed by the infamous \u201cPol Pot\u201d methods of decimation<\/span><\/p>\n

A group that attacked a day earlier than the master plan<\/span><\/p>\n

Led to the awakening of the Forces & Government<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The insurgency was crushed in next to no time<\/span><\/p>\n

The Nation sighed a breath of relief from the disastrous situation<\/span><\/p>\n

The Noble PM accepted the victory and remained unsung<\/span><\/p>\n

Neither did she openly praise the victorious troops for their contribution<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Acknowledgement of the feat of the Services received her gratitude and recognition<\/span><\/p>\n

Nothing to commemorate the victory ever received public high-light or acclaim<\/span><\/p>\n

For she quite rightly said we killed our own youth for our independence<\/span><\/p>\n

So! The heroes of the 3 Services & Police will be forever hidden<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The attached poem is to perpetuate & venerate those who gave of their best & those who never returned. Please pay due homage to them \u2013 won\u2019t you?<\/span><\/p>\n

To the \u00a0Great Guys who served through the Insurgency<\/u>.<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

Dem were d\u2019days that no one can tear asunder<\/span><\/p>\n

It was dem or us or you could go under<\/span><\/p>\n

Armed with a .38 or Sten with no thunder<\/span><\/p>\n

Always wondering where the shot went yonder<\/span><\/p>\n

Alas! We are able to reminisce and ponder<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

We are still alive and kicking is a wonder<\/span><\/p>\n

So! Fret no more dear Friends; as we grow older<\/span><\/p>\n

For we shall remain friends for now and forever<\/span><\/p>\n

Reminiscing of the past so clear and remaining wiser<\/span><\/p>\n

Telling the tales to any interested listener<\/span><\/p>\n

Stay well my Friends and keep the communications going<\/span><\/p>\n

As, us vintage types keep the good old flag aloft and flying.<\/span><\/p>\n
