SUNDAY CHOICE – Thank you Jesus for the blood applied<\/span> – by Charles Schokman<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

Thank you Jesus for the blood applied.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

An important element of life with God: that we thank him for his past work and his continual work.<\/span><\/p>\n

As Christians, there are some obvious things we can be thankful for.\u00a0Jesus\u2019s atoning death on the cross that has brought salvation.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

One day we will go to heaven.\u00a0We have a relationship with God.\u00a0But what about what God is doing now?<\/span><\/p>\n

Philippians 1:3\u20136 ESV<\/strong>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201c\u00a0for it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

So God didn\u2019t just do something for us in the past.\u00a0He is continually working in our life.\u00a0Gratitude can become a spiritual discipline in our life.\u00a0The moment our child is born is an obvious time to be thankful to God.<\/span><\/p>\n

But what about a moment sitting in traffic?\u00a0Maybe we can thankful in that situation by seeing it is a time to slow down in our busy schedule, or a chance to pray.\u00a0No moment or circumstance is too small to acknowledge the good God is doing in that moment in the world.\u00a0A life of gratitude helps us reflect and become present in God\u2019s work in the world.<\/span><\/p>\n

It can take away the pressure of our having to make everything work for ourselves, helping us appreciate what is in our life and enabling us to see where God is taking us.<\/span><\/p>\n
