Never gave us a how-to-manual, a list of instructions, a set of definite plans. Never said He\u2019d monitor our every footstep, our every decision, our every turn. He never said He\u2019d control us to the point that we couldn\u2019t take steps on our own. Never promised all carefree days, without any struggle or pain. \u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #000000;\">But what He\u00a0<em>did<\/em>\u00a0promise was His son\u2019s sacrifice for us\u2014a promise that no matter what we faced, no matter what fear may cloud our minds, no matter where we go or how far we wander from His loving arms\u2014we will never be alone.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #000000;\">God never promised it would be easy. He never said that our days would be open and filled with light and love. That we\u2019d fall into people and they\u2019d always love us back. That we\u2019d never experience loss, or failure, or death, or\u00a0<a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/thoughtcatalog.com\/marisa-donnelly\/2017\/11\/god-will-bring-purpose-from-pain\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/thoughtcatalog.com\/marisa-donnelly\/2017\/11\/god-will-bring-purpose-from-pain\/&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1688887219789000&amp;usg=AOvVaw1lkbCzb2UrBk1MEWhAL-gr\">pain<\/a>. He never said that things would always go our way, that we would always know where to go, that our road would be smoothly-paved and bump free.<\/span><\/p>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #000000;\">But what He\u00a0<em>did<\/em>\u00a0promise was that He would be forever standing by our side, forever carrying us through the\u00a0<a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/thoughtcatalog.com\/marisa-donnelly\/2018\/01\/sometimes-god-uses-the-tough-moments-to-bring-us-back-to-him\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/thoughtcatalog.com\/marisa-donnelly\/2018\/01\/sometimes-god-uses-the-tough-moments-to-bring-us-back-to-him\/&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1688887219789000&amp;usg=AOvVaw24lxcy0np5vD8m1f2-vDua\">tough patches<\/a>, forever arms outstretched leaning towards in. What He\u00a0<em>did<\/em>\u00a0say was that in every season of brokenness, He would bring us hope, strength, and truth.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #000000;\">God gave us the\u00a0<a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/thoughtcatalog.com\/marisa-donnelly\/2016\/04\/27-beautiful-bible-verses-for-every-woman\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/thoughtcatalog.com\/marisa-donnelly\/2016\/04\/27-beautiful-bible-verses-for-every-woman\/&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1688887219789000&amp;usg=AOvVaw2HmnIINUpInPki0lEV5iTF\">Bible<\/a>, the commandments, the values to live by and encourage us in our walk. He gave us family and friends, people and places of support and love to turn in times of despair. But He\u00a0<em>did<\/em>\u00a0promise a perfect\u00a0<a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/thoughtcatalog.com\/marisa-donnelly\/2016\/07\/have-faith-in-gods-plan-wherever-he-may-lead-you\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/thoughtcatalog.com\/marisa-donnelly\/2016\/07\/have-faith-in-gods-plan-wherever-he-may-lead-you\/&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1688887219789000&amp;usg=AOvVaw2xjHya900pFviWhXaBeMuV\">plan<\/a>\u2014one that is continually unfolding with our every step, every breath.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #000000;\">God didn\u2019t promise easy, but He\u00a0<em>did<\/em>\u00a0promise we\u2019d\u00a0<a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/thoughtcatalog.com\/marisa-donnelly\/2017\/01\/you-are-never-alone-god-is-with-you\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/thoughtcatalog.com\/marisa-donnelly\/2017\/01\/you-are-never-alone-god-is-with-you\/&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1688887219789000&amp;usg=AOvVaw3Z1G6QrOIF1AiE4esDBQp-\">never have to fight alone<\/a>. He\u00a0<em>did<\/em>\u00a0promise that He would never be more than a prayer away, and that when we accepted His son\u2019s death and resurrection as redemption and deliverance, we would forever be near to Him\u2014physically, spiritually, mentally, emotionally, fully.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #000000;\">We are not meant to have perfect, pain-free lives. We are not supposed to have all the answers, or the entirety of our existences figured out. We are not supposed to never fall, never mess up, never trip or lose our faith momentarily. This life was not meant to be easy\u2014for then there would be no purpose.<\/span><\/p>\n<div>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #000000;\">He created us in His image: to live, to love, to find our individual meaning, to honor Him. To know that we will be challenged, shaken, and exhausted by the weight of the world.
