These were the real pioneer SCUBA divers of Sri\u00a0Lanka \u2013 by Rex I. De Silva<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

In view of some recent internet discussions as to who the pioneer SCUBA divers of Sri Lanka were, I list herewith my findings. I should point out that as the Honorary Secretary of the Reefcombers of Ceylon (ROC) I knew most of the individuals mentioned here and dived with many of them. Those whose names appear in\u00a0bold<\/strong>\u00a0type were members of the ROC, non-members’ names appear in plain text. Those whose names are followed by an asterisk are the few pioneer\u00a0Reefcombers\u00a0<\/strong>who survive to date.<\/span><\/p>\n
