This is\u00a0list of recipients of the Nishan-e-Imtiaz<\/b>, listed in chronological order. The\u00a0Nishan-e-Imtiaz<\/a>\u00a0(Urdu<\/a>:\u00a0\u0646\u0634\u0627\u0646 \u0627\u0645\u062a\u06cc\u0627\u0632<\/span>;\u00a0transl.<\/abbr>\u2009Order of Excellence) is one of the state organized\u00a0civil decorations<\/a>\u00a0of\u00a0Islamic Republic of Pakistan<\/a>.[1]<\/a><\/sup><\/span><\/p>\n

It is awarded for achievements towards world recognition for Pakistan or outstanding service for the country. However, the award is not limited to citizens of Pakistan and, while it is a civilian award, it can also be awarded to military personnel and worn on the uniform. Nishan, translates as Decoration\/Order, is a highly restricted and prestigious award roughly equivalent to\u00a0Presidential Medal of Freedom<\/a>\u00a0(United States<\/a>) and\u00a0Order of the British Empire<\/a>\u00a0(United Kingdom), and is the first category award of\u00a0Order of Imtiaz<\/b>.[1]<\/a><\/sup>\u00a0The other three descending categories are\u00a0Hilal-i-Imtiaz<\/a>,\u00a0Sitara-i-Imtiaz<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Tamgha-e-Imtiaz<\/a>. Usually, it is regarded as the highest award one can achieve in Pakistan since the higher award\u00a0Nishan-e-Pakistan<\/a>\u00a0is awarded only to foreign\u00a0Heads of States<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n
