The next morning, we decided to drive down to Balapitiya along the Western coast, just one hour drive along the Colombo-Galle Road, to discover the secrets of the Madu River and explore the sounds and the sights of the lush mangrove forest, with many of my family members.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #000000;\">The Madu River is in Balapitiya on the road to Galle, and we were told that this mangrove forest is a paradise for nature lovers. It is home to over 300 species of fauna from colorful birds like woodpeckers and kingfishers among others, and has over 22 small islands or you may call them the islets.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #000000;\">We drove to the Nilwala Boatshed through a narrow-tarred road turning left towards the sea from Colombo-Galle Road at Balapitiya, to hire the boat with the navigator, In the global context, the ecological importance of the site has garnered it the \u2018RAMSAR WETLAND\u2019 status in 2003 is the second-largest wetland in Sri Lanka with a colossal 915 hectares with 22 islands inhabited by nearly 300 families.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #000000;\">Madu Ganga Sanctuary is now a Tourist Development Area and a Special Area managed by the Coast Conservation Department, Balapitiyais where the <a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/iCTBl1TW74M\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">https:\/\/youtu.be\/iCTBl1TW74M<\/a> Website: <a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.Doctorharold.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">www.Doctorharold.com<\/a> \u2018Madu Ganga\u2019 makes its home.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #000000;\">So, let\u2019s share this video to get a glimpse of the exciting wetland cruise, in Sri Lanka. It was a thrilling one and a half hours of excitement all the way, and this river safari is well recommended for those who visit this beautiful island, once described as the best planet for tourists to enjoy.
