Notably, Athapaththu was recently snubbed from the overseas draft of the same tournament.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #000000;\">However, her inclusion comes as she was named as an overseas replacement player for Thunder. The 33-year-old has quite the experience when it comes to competing in the WBBL. The Sri Lanka skipper has competed for Perth Scorchers and Melbourne Renegades and was even one of the retention options for Renegades. However, they selected Hayley Matthews and Harmanpreet Kaur as the retentions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #000000;\">As part of the Thunder lineup, Athapaththu will be part of a heavily experienced lineup that will consist of the likes of Marizanne Kapp, Heather Knight, and Lauren Bell.
