Terence posing the question-\u00a0<b>Tell me why?<\/b>\u00a0that focussed on children in the war ravaged Vanni, Sri Lanka. Click on attachment.<\/span><\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #000000;\">Looking back through the changing scenes of life for the past 15 years there is much to be desired, the world is still in a pretty mess.\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #000000;\">When you switch your TV on to watch and listen to the news you are often exposed to the atrocities of war such as those caused between Russia &amp; Ukraine and the Palestinians &amp; Isarites or to the natural disasters and murders around the world. Sadly, you cannot help but hang your head in shame.\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #000000;\"><b>It appears that the World Community has turned a blind eye, and nobody seems to care.<\/b><\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #000000;\">What hurts most as expressed by Fr.Terence are the children who are the innocent victims. Dejectedly, the rights of the child are no more recognised and preserved.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Fp33GKbWRc8?si=zKPYKezzM7PwCe82\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #000000;\">In this link&#8211;\u00a0Declan Galbraith poses the same question in song&#8211; Tell me why?<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #000000;\">My question to you is- When will we ever learn?<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #000000;\">You are welcome to pass this on<\/span><\/div>\n<div>\n<hr \/>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 16px; font-family: 'TimesNewRoman,Bold', serif; color: #000000;\">Tell me why? <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 16px; font-family: TimesNewRoman, serif; color: #000000;\">The most precious gift that God has given us in this world is our children. No doubt that, this is the core of whatever the religion that you believe in. Jesus had very prominent place for the children in his life and warned the elders that unless they become like children they will not inherit the kingdom of God. Further he alarmed that \u201cwhoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him if a great millstone were hung around his neck and thrown into the sea.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 16px; font-family: TimesNewRoman, serif; color: #000000;\">The future is our children. Tomorrow\u2019s world belongs to them. Cultures and languages compare children with the best of things in this universe. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 16px; font-family: TimesNewRoman, serif; color: #000000;\">Children are like flowers. They are like angels. Heaven belongs to the children. Children\u2019s world is so beautiful when someone is among children he\/she forgets all his\/her worries and problems. Children are kind, honest, innocent and loving. This world is not ours but of children. If so, it is our utmost and paramount duty and responsibility to love and protect these blossoming buds that may bloom and make the creation of God beautiful. Let\u2019s not and not allow any body to destroy them that they may grow and live in this world and make it still a better place for those who are yet to come. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 16px; font-family: TimesNewRoman, serif; color: #000000;\">This is my wish, your wish, our wish, everybody\u2019s wish and wish of the whole world. There is a special U.N. convention on the rights of the child so to confirm and show the most importance place that children hold in this world. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 16px; font-family: TimesNewRoman, serif; color: #000000;\">Now it is quite clear that, this should be the position and the place of the children in this world. But in reality and when we look at the world around can we be happy about their situation? Let\u2019s draw our attention to our beloved children in the war ravaged Vanni.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-134738 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/websitedesigns.com.au\/elankanew\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/sunday-e1714820926125.jpg\" alt=\"sunday\" width=\"600\" height=\"322\" \/><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 16px; font-family: TimesNewRoman, serif; color: #000000;\">Are they not children? Why the whole world is silent before this carnage? Why this fearful silence in the south? Is it because they are not Sinhalese? <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 16px; font-family: TimesNewRoman, serif; color: #000000;\">Is it because that we have never become a prey to this brutal war?<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 16px; font-family: TimesNewRoman, serif; color: #000000;\">Is it because that they are Tamils? Are we not responsible for this miserable and pathetic situation of these innocent children? How do we live so<br \/>\npeacefully in the South as if nothing happen in this country?
