We acknowledge Domestic and Family Violence (DFV) Prevention Month, and highlight how the Department can assist members of our community who are impacted by DFV. Recent Budget announcements aim to deliver improved settlement outcomes for members of our refugee and migrant communities.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #000000;\">This has been an unsettling time in Australia. This includes targeted funding for Youth Transition Support services, specialised support for refugee and migrant women experiencing domestic and family violence, funding to continue English classes in Community Hubs, and the extension of settlement services for the <a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/immi.homeaffairs.gov.au\/settling-in-australia\/helping-refugees\/get-involved\/community-refugee-integration-settlement\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Community Refugee Integration and Settlement Pilot<\/a> (CRISP). Further information is available on page 138 of the <a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/budget.gov.au\/content\/bp2\/download\/bp2_2024-25.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Budget<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #000000;\">The planning levels for the\u00a0<strong>2024-25 Permanent Migration Program<\/strong>\u00a0will be set at 185,000 places, with a focus on filling skills shortages in priority sectors, prioritising visa processing for regional Australia, and partner and family migration.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #000000;\">You can read more about migration planning levels <a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/immi.homeaffairs.gov.au\/what-we-do\/migration-program-planning-levels?fbclid=IwAR0XEBLSnynrA1o9_vmE1GxEflvDkrs_1S9CzxjzY5zUSVgcuzWSJVRuEGA\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">here<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #000000;\">The Government will implement a visa pre-application process (a ballot), with a $25 ballot fee, for some\u00a0<strong>Working Holiday Maker<\/strong>\u00a0(WHM) programs. Perpetrators of DFV cannot cancel visas, but they may have their visa refused or cancelled. The Department\u2019s policy is to not cancel someone\u2019s temporary (including Partner) visa solely because a relationship with the primary visa holder has ended due to DFV. The Department can consider<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 16px;\"><a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/immi.homeaffairs.gov.au\/visas\/domestic-family-violence-and-your-visa\/family-violence-provisions\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">family violence provisions<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; This will better indicate the amount of money considered reasonable to provide a minimum standard of living while studying in Australia. This proportion considers that students are out of course session for 25 per cent of the year.
