Rt. Rev. Keerthisiri Fernando<\/span><\/a>, the former 6th Bishop of the Diocese of Kurunagala in the Church of Ceylon, will be officially instituted as the Vicar of\u00a0St Peter\u2019s Church in Murrumbeena<\/a>. The ceremony is scheduled for July 20, 2024, at 4:00 PM and will be led by The\u00a0Right Reverend Genieve Blackwell<\/a>, Assistant Bishop of the Marmingatha Episcopate in the\u00a0Anglican Diocese of Melbourne<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

In an announcement made by Fernando, he expressed his gratitude and extended an invitation to the community to attend the service of commissioning.\u00a0“Your presence at this act of worship would create a positive impression of our wider community irrespective of our ethnic, religious, and other identities in Melbourne and elsewhere,”<\/b><\/i>\u00a0he stated. Fernando emphasized the significance of community support in starting his new ministry in Melbourne.<\/span><\/p>\n

He also highlighted the potential for mutual enrichment through this ministry, hoping it would make a meaningful and effective impact in the Murrumbeena area and beyond.<\/span><\/p>\n
