She certainly put Ceylon &#8220;on the map&#8221; in achieving this &amp; we are all proud of her.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px; color: #800080;\">&#8220;Neliya&#8221; was 13 when I met her in 1950 in Lorensz Road, Bambalapitiya, where we both lived. I remember a song called &#8220;Puppy-Love&#8221; during the good old days and it certainly was, as far as we were concerned.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px; color: #800080;\">Later on, I wrote the song &#8220;Dream-World&#8221; for her, too late for me, because she had already &#8220;made it&#8221; in the U.S.of A. when the song was released.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px; color: #800080;\">This will be another &#8220;story&#8221; coming up in eLanka later, but let me just say &#8221; Happy birthday Neliya&#8221; Time has caught up with both of us but let&#8217;s keep in touch while we still can.
