SUNDAY CHOICE – Brother, let me be your servant.–A Message for Lent-By Charles Schokman<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

THINKING DEEPER<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Sometimes I wonder how to be a servant to others. With my family it\u2019s easy right?\u00a0 I can tidy and clean up after them.\u00a0 It\u2019s even possible to encourage my son to be a servant by picking up after himself and helping others.\u00a0 Finding ways to be helpful at home is easy, it\u2019s not always so easy with those outside your home, at least for me I find.<\/span><\/p>\n

I know that I like to be a behind the scenes person so serving as front-line staff at the Community Kitchen isn\u2019t my thing, but I\u2019ve learned I can help behind the scenes to tidy\/organize the pantry.\u00a0 Same with the Foodbank\u2026 to be the organizer, sorter of good works better for me than running around with the clients.<\/span><\/p>\n

Oft-times though it seems like I do too little and I just don\u2019t\u00a0\u00a0how to expand beyond that. I am reminded of how\u00a0Christ became a servant\u00a0and that he has a purpose in doing so.\u00a0 How can I better be a servant?\u00a0 Perhaps I have too many things keeping me busy?\u00a0 I don\u2019t know\u2026 but this song calls me to think more about how I can be a servant to others.<\/span><\/p>\n
