Frequently, &#8220;they&#8221; come into my writings,\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">and, just as frequently, they will come into the minds of everyone, no matter who they are, no matter, where they live,\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">no matter, if they can read this, or they cannot. Actually, no matter WHAT!.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">I now speak (or write), about persons, such as myself, who have been lucky enough to live a long life, in the context of time,those who have experienced life, the good and the bad times, when they were happy or sad, to be brief, those who have &#8220;lived life&#8221;.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">Youngsters have no time for &#8220;memories&#8221;. They live in a &#8220;time&#8221;when they have no &#8220;time&#8221; for such things, but, there is nothing more certain. There will come a &#8220;time&#8221; (hopefully), when they, too, will have recourse to this unique &#8220;word&#8221;.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">&#8220;Memories are made of this&#8221;, sang Dino Martino, with a glass of anything, except &#8220;&#8216;water,&#8221; in his hand. Written by three people, Terry Gilkyson, Richard Dehr, &amp; Frank Miller in 1955, it became a smash &#8220;hit&#8221; for Dean, which simply goes to show what an important &#8220;word&#8221; this is, in the English language. It took THREE people to write that song.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">There are possibly dozens of songs about &#8220;memories&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">As a matter of fact, this writer penned one, as well, called\u00a0&#8220;Memories, that haunt me&#8221;, &amp; believe me, readers of eLanka,<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">speaking literally, &#8220;they&#8221; still do. I have lived a life with many &#8220;hauntings&#8221; including, one of which being about when I, myself, was mistaken for a &#8220;ghost&#8221;in a little cemetery in Suburban Ceylon, in the middle of the night, but that is another story.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">Now, here is something else, that is most important. Unfortunately, we hear the word &#8220;dementia&#8221;, occurring quite<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">frequently, in our lives today. It is a very &#8220;sad&#8221; word. There is no pain involved in this sickness, just a complete loss of memory. However, the first &#8220;mistress&#8221; in my life, was, is, &amp; always be, &#8220;Music&#8221;, and the reason I bring this &#8220;possible remedy&#8221; into this story, is that &#8220;MUSIC&#8221; seems to be the ONLY thing to bring back memories (even temporarily), to people suffering dementia. I did write another article for eLanka, many moons ago, titled &#8220;Entertainers, Extraordinaire&#8221; which proves what I say about music.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">Anyone who is &#8220;up to date&#8221; on technology is invited to &#8220;google&#8221; the title, under my name, to read about two superb Australians, one of whom, suffered dementia. It is a sad, but true story, &amp; one I may even bring back with my new concept for eLanka, where a &#8220;music-clip&#8221; is attached to the story.
