{"id":29351,"date":"2018-09-17T10:18:26","date_gmt":"2018-09-17T10:18:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/websitedesigns.com.au\/elankanew\/?p=29351"},"modified":"2018-10-02T15:12:18","modified_gmt":"2018-10-02T15:12:18","slug":"my-dream-is-to-become-a-biomedical-engineer-and-help-elderly-people-dasith","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/websitedesigns.com.au\/elankanew\/my-dream-is-to-become-a-biomedical-engineer-and-help-elderly-people-dasith\/","title":{"rendered":"My dream is to become a biomedical engineer and help elderly people: Dasith"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #993300;\">My dream is to become a biomedical engineer and help elderly people: Dasith<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #993300; font-size: 24px;\">(Source:\u00a0Canterbury Bankstown Express)<\/span><\/strong><\/h1>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/websitedesigns.com.au\/elankanew\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/Capture26.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-29352 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/websitedesigns.com.au\/elankanew\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/Capture26.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"677\" height=\"460\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<div class=\"tg-tlc-storybody_intro\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px; color: #000080;\">CHULLORA\u2019S Dasith Winayawariyage said his main aim to become a biomedical engineer is to help elderly people.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px; color: #000080;\">The 22-year-old is an ideal example that there are alternative pathways exist to help school leavers achieve their dream career even if their Higher School Certificate exam results don\u2019t turn out the way they expected.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px; color: #000080;\">The Sri Lankan-born student migrated to Australia in 2014 with dreams of becoming a biomedical engineer, but didn\u2019t have the qualifications needed to gain entry into university.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px; color: #000080;\">He was, however, determined not to let go of his dreams and completed a TAFE Statement in HSC studies at Randwick.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/websitedesigns.com.au\/elankanew\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/Capture29.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-29353 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/websitedesigns.com.au\/elankanew\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/Capture29.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"696\" height=\"391\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px; color: #000080;\">This provided a pathway for Mr Winayawariyage to complete further studies as he is now studying a Biomedical Engineering degree.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px; color: #000080;\">\u201cThere is no TAFE equivalent in Sri Lanka, so I am over the moon I have been accepted into university as my dream is to become a biomedical engineer and help elderly people,\u201d Mr Winayawariyage said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px; color: #000080;\">\u201cIn 2016 I started the TAFE Statement in HSC Studies course and completed six subjects across two years.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px; color: #000080;\">\u201cI was fortunate enough to complete the course part time, which allowed me to take my time and focus all my efforts on achieving high results.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">\u201cI studied two unit mathematics, mathematics exten<\/span>sion <span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">one and two, chemistry, physics and Standard English.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px; color: #000080;\">\u201cI also studied a Certificate IV in English for Academic Purposes at TAFE NSW Ultimo to help improve my English reading and writing skills.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px; color: #000080;\">He said his story serves as a timely reminder to others that, while the HSC is important, there are alternative pathways to help you be in a career you love<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>My dream is to become a biomedical engineer and help elderly people: Dasith (Source:\u00a0Canterbury Bankstown Express) CHULLORA\u2019S Dasith Winayawariyage said his main aim to become a biomedical engineer is to help elderly people.
