The loneliness I felt when she and her little sister Reshmi left the shores of Sri Lanka could not be washed away with anything I did or said, so I sat down and put pen to paper. The result was the poem titled Pitter Patter Little Feet and eventually the book Above The Ocean Wide &amp; Deep.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 24px;\">Honorary Consul for Sri Lanka in Queensland Mr. Anton Swan graced the\u00a0occasion\u00a0as the\u00a0chief\u00a0guest and welcomed the author to the Sri Lankan community in Brisbane while Dr. Nimal Sedara bilingual journalist, poet, author and reputed marketing guru\u00a0spoke of the author and her creativity in admiration. Dr Sedara in his eloquent speech introduced Eva\u2019s poems to the audience as \u201cverses beautifully knitted into a garland of precious gems\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 24px;\">The audience was filled with nostalgia when at the culmination of the\u00a0event,\u00a0Eva,\u00a0 who was an original\u00a0cast\u00a0member of Prof. Ediriweera Sarachchandra\u2019s critically acclaimed stage production Sinhabahu,\u00a0sang \u201cBo Dukin\u201d together with her long time friend and the very first female lead of the drama, Malani Ranasingha. The two singer\u2019s were accompanied by Malani\u2019s daughter Kanchanamala and a full orchestra.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 24px;\">The event, which was organized by Reads Media Events Boutique in collaboration with Dr Piyasiri\u00a0Pelenda,\u00a0saw\u00a0Sri\u00a0Lankan\u00a0literature\u00a0lovers from\u00a0Brisbane\u00a0and\u00a0Gold Coast\u00a0come together to appreciate the creativity of a\u00a0Sri Lankan\u00a0author\u00a0who calls Australia home now.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 24px;\">Countless elements came together to make the evening a memorable one not only for the author but for everyone who attended the event.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-31624\"
