Uncle too had a car<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 24px; color: #003366;\">&gt;<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 24px; color: #003366;\">&gt; That kept us all fit<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 24px; color: #003366;\">&gt;<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 24px; color: #003366;\">&gt; With a \u201cthallu\u201d start to gain more pace<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 24px; color: #003366;\">&gt;<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 24px; color: #003366;\">&gt; Waited for March, big match day<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 24px; color: #003366;\">&gt;<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 24px; color: #003366;\">&gt; And the Cycle Parade was before that day<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 24px; color: #003366;\">&gt;<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 24px; color: #003366;\">&gt; Collect the money for thosi kade<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 24px; color: #003366;\">&gt;<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 24px; color: #003366;\">&gt; And the fun was to ring the College bell before the end of<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 24px; color: #003366;\">&gt; school time.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 24px; color: #003366;\">&gt;<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 24px; color: #003366;\">&gt; First stop was the belfry, to ring the bell then run like<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 24px; color: #003366;\">&gt; hell,<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 24px; color: #003366;\">&gt;<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 24px; color: #003366;\">&gt; laughing all the way.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 24px; color: #003366;\">&gt;<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 24px; color: #003366;\">&gt; Then the man in charge shouting and start chasing all the<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 24px; color: #003366;\">&gt; way<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 24px; color: #003366;\">&gt;<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 24px; color: #003366;\">&gt; Meet the girl friend for a chat<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 24px; color: #003366;\">&gt;<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 24px; color: #003366;\">&gt; Holding hands was the most we got.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 24px; color: #003366;\">&gt;<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 24px; color: #003366;\">&gt; Bus halt the preferred place<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 24px; color: #003366;\">&gt;<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 24px; color: #003366;\">&gt; These were the good old days.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 24px; color: #003366;\">&gt;<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 24px; color: #003366;\">&gt; Zellers, Knickerbocker Glory and Bambalapitiya flats<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 24px; color: #003366;\">&gt;<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 24px; color: #003366;\">&gt; Perhaps some of you are too young to appreciate this&#8230;<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 24px; color: #003366;\">&gt;<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 24px; color: #003366;\">&gt; You may however ask your parents and they would agree.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 24px; color: #003366;\">&gt;<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 24px; color: #003366;\">&gt; When the worst thing you could do at school was smoke in<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 24px; color: #003366;\">&gt; the<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 24px; color: #003366;\">&gt;<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 24px; color: #003366;\">&gt; bathrooms, fail a test or chew gum.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 24px; color: #003366;\">&gt;<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 24px; color: #003366;\">&gt; And the banquets were in the tuck-shop,<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 24px; color: #003366;\">&gt;<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 24px; color: #003366;\">&gt; And we danced to a gramophone later, and all the girls wore<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 24px; color: #003366;\">&gt; fluffy pastel gowns,<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 24px; color: #003366;\">&gt;<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 24px; color: #003366;\">&gt; And the boys wore &#8216;longs&#8217; for the first time,<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 24px; color: #003366;\">&gt;<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 24px; color: #003366;\">&gt; And we were allowed to stay out and watch a 9.30 PM show at<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 24px; color: #003366;\">&gt; the<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 24px; color: #003366;\">&gt;<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 24px; color: #003366;\">&gt; Liberty and the Majestic and the Savoy<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 24px; color: #003366;\">&gt;<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 24px; color: #003366;\">&gt; And the biggest thrill was holding hands&#8230;!<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 24px; color: #003366;\">&gt;<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 24px; color: #003366;\">&gt; When a Sunbeam Alpine or an MG was everyone&#8217;s dream<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 24px; color: #003366;\">&gt; car,<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 24px; color: #003366;\">&gt;<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 24px; color: #003366;\">&gt; To cruise, peel out, lay rubber and watch the road races and<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 24px; color: #003366;\">&gt; people went steady.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 24px; color: #003366;\">&gt;<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 24px; color: #003366;\">&gt; It was the greatest weekend to go to<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 24px; color: #003366;\">&gt;<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 24px; color: #003366;\">&gt; the Galle Face Hotel&#8217;s &#8216;Coconut Grove&#8217; with the<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 24px; color: #003366;\">&gt; JETLINERS,<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 24px; color: #003366;\">&gt;<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 24px; color: #003366;\">&gt; or The Ceylinco Ball Room with the SPITFIRES<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 24px; color: #003366;\">&gt;<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 24px; color: #003366;\">&gt; Or The Little Hut With the AMAZING GRACE<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 24px; color: #003366;\">&gt;<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 24px; color: #003366;\">&gt; Or The Akasa Kade with Sam the Man! \/ Sun &amp; Sand<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 24px; color: #003366;\">&gt;<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 24px; color: #003366;\">&gt; And no one ever asked where the car keys were &#8217;cause<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 24px; color: #003366;\">&gt; they were always<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 24px; color: #003366;\">&gt;<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 24px; color: #003366;\">&gt; in the car, in the ignition,<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 24px; color: #003366;\">&gt;<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 24px; color: #003366;\">&gt; and the doors were never locked,<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 24px; color: #003366;\">&gt;<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 24px; color: #003366;\">&gt; and you got into big trouble if you accidentally locked the<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 24px; color: #003366;\">&gt; doors at<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 24px; color: #003366;\">&gt;<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 24px; color: #003366;\">&gt; home, since no one ever had a key.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 24px; color: #003366;\">&gt;<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 24px; color: #003366;\">&gt; Remember, lying on your back on the grass with our friends<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 24px; color: #003366;\">&gt; and saying<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 24px; color: #003366;\">&gt;<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 24px; color: #003366;\">&gt; things like &#8220;That cloud looks like a&#8230;&#8221;<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 24px; color: #003366;\">&gt;<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 24px; color: #003366;\">&gt; Playing cricket with no adults to help kids with the rules<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 24px; color: #003366;\">&gt; of the game.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 24px; color: #003366;\">&gt;<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 24px; color: #003366;\">&gt; Back then, cricket was not a psychological group learning<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 24px; color: #003366;\">&gt; experience &#8211;<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 24px; color: #003366;\">&gt;<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 24px; color: #003366;\">&gt; It was a game!<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 24px; color: #003366;\">&gt;<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 24px; color: #003366;\">&gt; Remember when stuff from the store came without safety caps<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 24px; color: #003366;\">&gt; and<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 24px; color: #003366;\">&gt;<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 24px; color: #003366;\">&gt; hermetic seals &#8217;cause no one had yet tried to poison a<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 24px; color: #003366;\">&gt; perfect<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 24px; color: #003366;\">&gt;<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 24px; color: #003366;\">&gt; stranger?<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 24px; color: #003366;\">&gt;<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 24px; color: #003366;\">&gt; With all our progress&#8230; Don&#8217;t you just wish&#8230; Just<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 24px;
