His<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 20px; color: #000000;\">reign is traditionally dated to 543\u2013505 BCE. According to the legends, he and<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 20px; color: #000000;\">several hundred of his followers came to Lanka after being expelled from an<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 20px; color: #000000;\">Indian kingdom.
