If you haven’t seen this, it’s worth the time to view it.<\/span><\/p>\n

What a smart piece of work. Follow the lyrics closely together with the photos. They synchronize beautifully to explain almost every<\/span><\/p>\n

line in each verse.<\/span><\/p>\n

Although Don McClean\u00a0only released this song in 1971<\/u>, for those\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

of us who grew up in the 50\u2019s and 60\u2019s this is a great timepiece<\/span><\/p>\n

with some very poignant moments in the history of those teen years.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

For those of our kids who did not, it\u2019s a taste of what they really missed.<\/span><\/p>\n

I knew that\u00a0\u00a0“American Pie”\u00a0<\/em>was the name of the Beech-Craft\u00a0 Bonanza four-seat airplane in which Buddy Holly, Richie Valens and The Big Bopper[J.P. Richardson] were killed when it crashed into the Iowa hillside due to engine carburetor icing on Feb 3rd<\/sup>\u00a01959 and I knew the chorus about music dying on that day referred specifically to them.<\/span><\/p>\n

Waylon Jennings was supposed to be on that flight\u00a0but gave up his seat<\/u>\u00a0to a coughing Buddy Holly<\/span><\/p>\n

I have listened to American Pie so often and I thought I understood what was being sung,\u00a0 but now realize that\u00a0not living in the States back then<\/u>, I only got very little of it.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

However, when the words are put together with pictures and film<\/span><\/p>\n

clips the song takes on a new meaning\u00a0 It took a lot of thought\u00a0 for<\/span><\/p>\n

someone to put this together and it brings back lots of memories\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Those were the days and all of us were very fortunate to grow<\/span><\/p>\n

up\u00a0during that period of time<\/u>,\u00a0 Those who are younger who hear<\/span><\/p>\n

this song might enjoy it…but doubtfully understand its true meaning<\/span><\/p>\n

It was a truly different and much better time to be a teenager..!<\/strong>\u00a0<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n
