They sure do have the gift of the gab.<u><\/u><u><\/u><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px; color: #0000ff;\">(note: the names of the following have been changed so as to not offend the people the joke was originally intended, noting the original was also a hoax!). eg: there was never an ex-Prime mister named \u201cJames Smith\u201din Australia..\u2026.<u><\/u><u><\/u><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 20px; color: #0000ff;\">No matter what side of the political fence you&#8217;re on, THIS is FUNNY and VERY telling! It just all depends on how you look at the same things.\u00a0<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 20px; color: #0000ff;\">Judy\u00a0Smith, an amateur genealogy researcher in south east Queensland , was doing some personal work on her own family tree. She discovered that ex-Prime Minister\u00a0James Smith&#8217;s great-great uncle,\u00a0Simon Smith, was hanged for horse stealing and train robbery in Melbourne in 1889.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><script async src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\"><\/script><br \/>\n<!-- Responsive --><br \/>\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display: block;\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-5123580823957590\" data-ad-slot=\"7875984934\" data-ad-format=\"auto\" data-full-width-responsive=\"true\"><\/ins><br \/>\n<script>\n(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\n<\/script><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 20px; color: #0000ff;\">Both Judy and\u00a0James Smith\u00a0share this common ancestor.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 20px; color: #0000ff;\">The only known photograph of\u00a0Simon Smith\u00a0shows him standing on the gallows at the Melbourne Jail.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 20px; color: #0000ff;\">On the back of the picture Judy obtained during her research is this\u00a0<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 20px; color: #0000ff;\">inscription:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 20px; color: #0000ff;\">&#8216;Simon Smith\u00a0horse thief, sent to Melbourne Jail 1885, escaped 1887, robbed the Melbourne-Geelong train six times.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 20px; color: #0000ff;\">Caught by Victoria Police Force, convicted and hanged in 1889.&#8217;\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><script async src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\"><\/script><br \/>\n<!-- Responsive --><br \/>\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display: block;\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-5123580823957590\" data-ad-slot=\"7875984934\" data-ad-format=\"auto\" data-full-width-responsive=\"true\"><\/ins><br \/>\n<script>\n(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\n<\/script><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 20px; color: #0000ff;\">So Judy recently e-mailed ex-Prime Minister\u00a0James Smith\u00a0for information about their great-great uncle,\u00a0Simon Smith.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 20px; color: #0000ff;\">Believe it or not,\u00a0James Smith\u2019s\u00a0staff sent back the following for her\u00a0<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 20px; color: #0000ff;\">genealogy research:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 20px; color: #0000ff;\">&#8220;Simon Smith\u00a0was famous in Victoria during the mid to late 1800s.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 20px; color: #0000ff;\">His business empire grew to include acquisition of valuable equestrian assets and intimate dealings with the Melbourne-Geelong Railroad..\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 20px; color: #0000ff;\">Beginning in 1883, he devoted several years of his life to government service, finally taking leave to resume his dealings with the railroad.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 20px; color: #0000ff;\">In 1887, he was a key player in a vital investigation run by the\u00a0<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 20px; color: #0000ff;\">Victoria Police Force.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 20px; color: #0000ff;\">In 1889,\u00a0Simon\u00a0passed away during an important civic function held in his honour when the platform upon which he was standing collapsed.&#8221;\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 20px; color: #0000ff;\">NOW That&#8217;s how it&#8217;s done, Folks!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 20px; color: #0000ff;\">That&#8217;s real\u00a0 POLITICAL SPIN.<u><\/u><u><\/u><\/span><\/p>\n<p><script async src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\"><\/script><br \/>\n<!-- Responsive --><br \/>\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display: block;\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-5123580823957590\" data-ad-slot=\"7875984934\" data-ad-format=\"auto\" data-full-width-responsive=\"true\"><\/ins><br \/>\n<script>\n(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\n<\/script><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>SPIN, THE AUSTRALIAN WAY &#8211;\u00a0Gilding the Lily Ya just gotta love politicians.
