A takeaway was a mathematical problem.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A pizza was something to do with a leaning tower.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

All potato crisps were plain; the only choice we had was\u00a0whether to put the salt on or not.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Rice was only eaten as a milk pudding.<\/span><\/p>\n

Calamari was called squid and we used it as fish bait.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

A Big Mac was what we wore when it was raining.<\/span><\/p>\n

Brown bread was something only poor people ate.<\/span><\/p>\n

Oil was for lubricating, fat was for\u00a0cooking.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Tea was made in a teapot using tea leaves and never green.<\/span><\/p>\n

Sugar enjoyed a good press in those days, and was regarded as being white gold. Cubed sugar was regarded as posh.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Fish didn’t have fingers in those days.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Eating raw fish was called poverty, not sushi.<\/span><\/p>\n

None of us had ever heard of yoghurt.<\/span><\/p>\n

Healthy food consisted of anything edible.<\/span><\/p>\n

People who didn’t peel potatoes were regarded as lazy.<\/span><\/p>\n

Indian restaurants were only found in India.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Cooking outside was called camping.<\/span><\/p>\n

Seaweed was not a recognized food.<\/span><\/p>\n

“Kebab” was not even a word, never mind a food.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Prunes were medicinal.<\/span><\/p>\n

Surprisingly, muesli was readily available, it was called\u00a0cattle feed.<\/span><\/p>\n

Water came out of the tap.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

If someone had suggested bottling it and charging more than petrol for it, they would have become a laughing\u00a0stock!!<\/span><\/p>\n

But the one thing that we never ever had\u00a0on our table in the sixties …..\u00a0“Elbows or Phones\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
