Black also developed a &#8220;stage clown&#8221; persona in the same way that Maddox entertained audiences. Black performed as an exaggerated\u00a0<a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Hillbilly\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Hillbilly&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1611933514807000&amp;usg=AFQjCNH2eeJnNicLvDWtRwQzsTk0xTe_gQ\" data-mt-detrack-inspected=\"true\" data-mt-detrack-attachment-inspected=\"true\">hillbilly<\/a>\u00a0with blacked-out teeth, straw hat and overalls. According to his son, Black said his goal was always to give his audience &#8220;a few moments of entertainment and maybe a little bit of humor that&#8217;ll tickle &#8217;em for a while.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px; color: #000000;\">In 1952, Black began playing in clubs and on radio shows with the guitarist\u00a0<a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Scotty_Moore\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Scotty_Moore&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1611933514807000&amp;usg=AFQjCNGYm5_fvERxsyKBMGT0kecXAcQKCw\" data-mt-detrack-inspected=\"true\" data-mt-detrack-attachment-inspected=\"true\">Scotty Moore<\/a>.
