We\u2019re back and more excited than ever to share our first batch of Showcasing Artists set to perform at the\u00a02022 SXSW Music Festival<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0from March 14-20.<\/span><\/p>\n

Today\u2019s announcement includes\u00a0over 240 artists<\/a>\u00a0from across the globe, both up-and-comers and veterans, ready to make some noise.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cOur first round of Showcasing Artists is a taste of what you can expect to see at SXSW 2022; a diverse lineup full of adventurous talent that\u2019s ripe for discovery. Leading the charge is rising London R&B vocalist\u00a0Poppy Ajudha<\/strong><\/a>, trash punks turned Gucci models\u00a0Surfbort<\/strong><\/a>, and\u00a0Maxo Kream<\/strong><\/a>, fresh off the release of his new album\u00a0Weight Of The World<\/em>, who will make his return to SXSW.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

From central and eastern Africa comes Kenyan industrial dystopian noise duo\u00a0DUMA<\/strong><\/a>, East African underground rapper and Nyege Nyege affiliate\u00a0MC Yallah<\/strong><\/a>, and 1970\u2019s Zambian psychedelic rockers\u00a0W.I.T.C.H. (We Intend To Cause Havoc)<\/strong><\/a>. Other international acts include Brazilian folk-pop duo\u00a0ANAVIT\u00d3RIA<\/strong><\/a>, Swiss-Tamil R&B singer\u00a0Priya Ragu<\/strong><\/a>, and the latest great UK post-punk hope\u00a0Yard Act<\/strong><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

A little closer to home, we are excited to announce some Texas favorites with San Antonio avant-experimental composer\u00a0Claire Rousay<\/strong><\/a>, Houston\u2019s newest baddie\u00a0Monaleo<\/strong><\/a>, and Texas Americana troubadour\u00a0James McMurtry<\/strong><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Teen indie-rock trio, and new Matador signing\u00a0Horsegirl<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0is set to take the stage as well as the ever-prolific\u00a0Ezra Furman<\/strong><\/a>, and playing their first shows in 25 years, a reunion of the posthumously appreciated indie-rock band\u00a0Vitreous Humor<\/strong><\/a>. And finally, trifecta singer, songwriter, and producer as well as\u00a0Song Exploder<\/em>\u00a0host\u00a0Hrishikesh Hirway<\/strong><\/a>; Kansas City pop genre-blenders\u00a0BLACKSTARKIDS<\/strong><\/a>; and Kevin Whelan\u2019s (The Wrens) newly announced Sub Pop solo-venture\u00a0Aeon Station<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0join the lineup.<\/span><\/p>\n
