AN INSPIRATIONAL MESSAGE FOR THE <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

MONTH OF NOVEMBER 2021<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Slow Dance By David L. Weatherford<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\"Slow<\/p>\n

\u201cSlow Dance<\/strong>\u00a0is an interesting\u00a0poem<\/strong>\u00a0that grips readers and causes them to think about the way in which they live their lives. It is\u00a0a poem<\/strong>\u00a0that\u00a0a<\/strong>\u00a0great number of us need to hear before getting out of bed each morning or climbing into the car before work.<\/span><\/p>\n

How often do you stop to take in the moment? Imagine a man who is not as happy as he wishes to be. He works a full time job, owns a house and is able to pay all his own bills.<\/span>
\nHowever, he comes home from work to his house every night just to make a quick dinner, watch television and fall asleep. On one of his days off he decides to take a trip to the park. He notices children playing, squirrels running through the grass, and trees moving in the wind. He pays attention to the bench he\u2019s on, and the space he takes up. He remembers now he\u2019s a living, breathing person. His worries are forgotten in this moment. This holds a powerful insight for happiness<\/a>; take some time to enjoy the current moment you are experiencing. Being able to enjoy the little things is needed to be happy.\u201d<\/span>
\n<\/p>\n

This message is strongly conveyed in the poem Slow Dance by David L. Weatherford.<\/span><\/p>\n

Slow Dance<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Have you ever watched kids on a merry-go-round<\/span>
\nOr listened to rain slapping on the ground?<\/span>
\nEver followed a butterfly\u2019s erratic flight<\/span>
\nOr gazed at the sun fading into the night?<\/span>
\nYou better slow down, don\u2019t dance so fast,<\/span>
\nTime is short, the music won\u2019t last.<\/span><\/p>\n

Do you run through each day on the fly?<\/span>
\nWhen you ask, \u201cHow are you?\u201d do you hear the reply?<\/span>
\nWhen the day is done, do you lie in your bed<\/span>
\nWith the next hundred chores running through your head?<\/span>
\nYou better slow down, don\u2019t dance so fast,<\/span>
\nTime is short, the music won\u2019t last.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ever told your child, \u201cWe\u2019ll do it tomorrow,\u201d<\/span>
\nAnd in your haste not seen his sorrow?<\/span>
\nEver lost touch, let a good friendship die,<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2019Cause you never had time to call and say hi?<\/span>
\nYou better slow down, don\u2019t dance so fast,<\/span>
\nTime is short, the music won\u2019t last.<\/span><\/p>\n

When you run so fast to get somewhere,<\/span>
\nYou miss half the fun of getting there.<\/span>
\nWhen you worry and hurry through your day,<\/span>
\nIt\u2019s like an unopened gift thrown away.<\/span>
\nLife is not a race, so take it slower,<\/span>
\nHear the music before your song is over.<\/span><\/p>\n

SLOW DOWN—What the Bible says:–<\/span><\/p>\n

Sometimes we need to SLOW DOWN so God\u2019s Goodness and Mercy can catch up with us.<\/span><\/p>\n

Proverbs 4:23 states, \u201cAbove all else, guard your heart, for everything\u00a0you<\/strong>\u00a0do flows from it.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Matthews 6:34, \u201cTherefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.<\/span><\/p>\n

Notice that above all else, we are responsible for the health of our own heart. So if\u00a0you<\/strong>\u00a0are too busy to live a healthy life, it’s time to\u00a0slow down<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n
