CALYPSO D\/CEYLON<\/strong><\/span><\/h1>\n

This lovely little Country, that we lived in<\/span>
\n Filled with “natural beauty, up to the brim<\/span>
\n She attracted “tourists” from near & far,<\/span>
\n and was simply called, our own Sri Lanka.<\/span><\/p>\n

She was a Country that, beyond any doubt<\/span>
\n There was really SOMETHING to talk about<\/span>
\n Take her “other name”, to say, in the least<\/span>
\n Ceylon was the famous “Pearl of the East.<\/span><\/p>\n

Take Colombo, Kandy, or even Galle<\/span>
\n Just take any place in Lanka, at all<\/span>
\n The “motto” in our Land was “Simplicity”<\/span>
\n Interlaced with warm “Hospitality”.<\/span><\/p>\n

We have had some very “good years” of life<\/span>
\n We have also had our “trouble & strife<\/span>
\n But, however dismal, was the outlook<\/span>
\n Peace came always first, in our Country’s book.<\/span><\/p>\n

After everything is all said and done<\/span>
\n There can never be another Ceylon<\/span>
\n With her elephants and coconut trees<\/span>
\n Where, flowers in profusion, sway in the breeze.<\/span><\/p>\n

Every word in this “Calypso” is true<\/span>
\n Otherwise, I would not sing it to you<\/span>
\n Now that all her banners I have unfurled<\/span>
\n Our Homeland too, will take her place in the World<\/span><\/p>\n

CEYLON too, will take her place in the World<\/span>
\n SRI LANKA too, will take her place in the World.<\/span><\/p>\n
